The Daily Freeman Journal

The Webster City Community Theatre will host today's Chamber of Commerce Coffee at 10 a.m. and will also break ground on a new expansion at the performing arts center.

A 6,000 square-foot, three-story addition on the west side of the facility is planned, according to WCCT?officials. The addition will expand the back stage area and include a workshop/paint shop, green room, changing rooms, makeup area, restrooms, and laundry. Storage space will be gained for costumes, set pieces and props. New seats will also be acquired for the auditorium and off-street parking will be offered.

Jaycox Construction will be in charge of the project. Students in the local Building and Trades program and WCCT volunteers will be assisting. The target date for completion is November when the new season opens.
