Hagenson named to ad hoc committee

Hamilton County Sheriff Denny Hagenson has announced that he has accepted membership on an ad hoc Iowa Law Enforcement Committee charged with developing the continuing education training that every Iowa officer is now required to take once every four years concerning the handling of mental health isues.

"It's an honor to be recognized as being qualified on this issue and able to contribute in the establishment of this important new training program for Iowa's law enforcement. My experience with this issue here in Hamilton County provides me with an indepth knowledge of what law enforcement officers need to be aware of in identifying these situations as well as how to deal with the incidents that come up,"?Hagenson said. "I will also be listening to the mental health providers, psycholgist and patient needs that will be represented by other members of the committee."

Other law enforcement officials from around the state will be joining Hagenson on the committee.
