Jim Krajewski is now a part of the Daily Freeman-Journal staff as lifestyles editor and general reporter. Krajewski said Wednesday in his introductory column that he appreciates the welcome he's received from Webster City.
"I look forward to providing you, the readers, with professional, neutral and interesting stories from our community and beyond," Krajewski said.
Originally from Normal, Ill., Krajewski received his bachelor's degree at Wartburg College in Waverly. He was a writer and assistant news director for the school paper, the Wartburg Trumpet, as well as co-news director for the campus radio station, KWAR. He graduated in late May and came to Webster City about a week later.
Krajewski joined the Daily Freeman-Journal team on July 9, and learned the ropes from now former Lifestyles editor Carrie Olson. Today, he officially took over the position. He said the staff have been very helpful in acclimating him to Webster City and the paper itself.
"Even with the experience I had coming out of college, I was slightly nervous about moving up to the big leagues," Krajewski said. "Anne, Carrie and everyone else at the paper have introduced me to many people around town and have made the transition much easier than I expected."
In addition, Krajewski will be writing a weekly column, "Jim's Jams."
