Thanks to Williams Legion post

August 1, 2012
The Daily Freeman Journal

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to thank the members of the Williams American Legion Post 633 for doing the color guard for us during the Hamilton County Fair Parade. Many members of Post 191's color guard were helping prepare for RAGBRAI.

Besides Commander Wayne Wahlert, other members included Don D. Williams, Loren D. Hoelscher and Mike Hames.

I would also like to thank Doug Youngdale at Gerber Auto Care for loaning the Legion their golf carts so the color guard wouldn't have to walk in the extreme heat.

Post 191 members normally provide the color guard for the Hamilton County Fair parade, but in addition to the Williams Post, there are Hamilton County Legion Posts in Stratford, Jewell and Ellsworth. I would like to extend an invitation to them to take their turn in walking or riding golf carts for the fair parade. If any of these posts wish to do so, please notify Post 191 no later than late June.
