MASON CITY (AP) - Authorities said a Union Pacific Railroad worker has died after being pinned between two railroad cars in Mason City.

The Globe Gazette said police say 36-year-old Georgiy Soloviyov, of Stanhope, was found on the tracks in the rail yard early Tuesday. He was reportedly working on a railroad car coupling when another car rolled into him, pinning him between the two cars. Soloviyov died at the scene.

Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis said the accident, which was reported about 2:30 a.m., is under investigation.
