EHC food pantry challenge nears its goal

Matching funds to boost total donated

July 31, 2012
The Daily Freeman Journal

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation food pantry challenge has nearly reached its goal of raising $4,000 for the county's three food pantries. The Lord's Cupboard in Jewell, food pantry in Stratford and Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Webster City all have food and personal care resources that are made available to families who are struggling to put food on the table.

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation board has pledged $2,000 to match contributions that are made to the food pantries this summer. A donor from rural Hamilton County has pledged an additional match for all donations that come in for this challenge. That means that for every dollar contributed, it will be matched by $2. More than $1,400 has come in as part of this challenge. Enhance Hamilton County Foundation encourages Hamilton County residents to donate $600 more in order to make this challenge a success.

Hamilton County individuals and businesses are asked to make cash donations. Do this by writing a check to EHCF and mailing it to P.O. Box 474, Webster City, IA 50595. Be sure to designate to which food pantry the donation needs to be credited to. The County foundation will match dollar for dollar cash that is received for the three food pantries.
