Changes to Boone River Cleanup

Due to very low river levels

The 2012 Boone River Cleanup is changing its location and method of cleaning the river due to very low river levels. Listed below is the new itinerary:

7 a.m. - Registration at Fuller Hall

8 a.m. - Volunteers will be shuttled to Nakomis Park Canoe Access

8:15 a.m. to noon - Volunteers will walk the river and collect garbage until they reach Brewer Creek (East Ohio Street)

Noon - Shuttle back to Fuller Hall

Noon to 1 p.m. - Free lunch for the volunteers at Fuller Hall.

Volunteers are asked to bring the following items:

Old shoes (closed toe), shovel or garden trowel, sunscreen, insect repellant, head covering, a clean set of clothes, work gloves, and a small backpack to put your items in.

Important items:

Bottled water will be provided during the cleanup.

Parent or Guardian must sign a waiver for those under 18.

Those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. It is not recommended for those 13 and younger.

Private property will be respected.

Alcohol consumption is not permitted during this event.
