The extremely warm temperatures didn't dampen the spirits of parade goers or entrants Monday as the official start of the Hamilton County Fair was marked by the annual parade through downtown Webster City.
This year's parade was moved back one day from the traditional Tuesday event to accommodate the arrival of the anticipated 20,000 RAGBRAI?riders. The fairgrounds will also host the RAGBRAI?RV support vehicles for the overnight stay.
A?dedication and presentation of donors was held at the new multipurpose show arena on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds following the parade. Monday also marked the beginning of judging for 4-H clubs and several open class events.?
Students from St. Thomas School cool off the crowds along Second Street with blasts from their water guns.
Tuesday events begin with 4-H dog obedience, pet and model horse shows.
Entertainment tonight at the fairgrounds will feature the bands Salty-Views, Redhead Express and Standing Hampton.
