BLAIRSBURG - Marcus Mechaelsen was in command on the mound, and at the plate he worked in his home run trot during Northeast Hamilton's 6-1 win over Southeast Webster-Grand in non-conference baseball action here yesterday evening.
Mechaelsen a senior right-hander, limited the Eagles to just three hits and he fanned 10 to earn the complete-game win. Southeast Webster-Grand (11-15) scored an unearned run in the seventh inning.
Mechaelsen also yanked a Joe Phipps pitch over the left-field fence for his second home run of the season - a solo shot - in the fourth inning.
NEH (7-17) finished with five hits. Stephen Chamness went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Gabe Rapp added a single.
The Trojans plated three runs in the third inning, and single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth.
NEH will be off until Thursday when it hosts Webster City in a varsity-only contest at 5 p.m.
