The Webster City City Council approved a motion to change the sump pump inspection due date from June 1 to July 2. City Manager Ed Sadler said that after?June 1, the City sent letters to home and property owners that had not had their homes inspected. He said that approximately 250 of those homes have called to have inspections between then and July 2. Sadler said that a little more than 100 homes have not complied with the inspection. The council thanked the residents of Webster City for their cooperation with the matter.
A public hearing was held for the contract for Jordan Well Project - Well No. 8 construction. A contract was awarded to Layne Christiansen Company, of Aurora, Ill. for $1,194,427.00.
A public hearing was held for the Jordan Well Project - Watermain construction. A contract was awarded to Synergy Contracting LLC, of Bondurant, for $1,254,635.00.
A public hearing was held for Jordan Well Project - Well House No. 8 construction. A?contract was awarded to Magney Construction Inc., of Chanhassen, Minn. ,for $245,400.
City staff will be working on electrical for Well No. 8 construction and will complete some of the work on the Well House to save money.
In other news, Sadler announced that the Webster City Outdoor Pool's slide is not broken. The pool lost one of its main pump and the slide's pump was diverted to the pool. A new pump has been ordered and should arrive within a week.
