HUMBOLDT - The Webster City softball team's North Central Conference contest with Humboldt was suspended in the top of the fifth inning last night due to heavy rain that hit the area.

The Lynx (14-11, 10-2 NCC) led the game 3-1 when umpires called both teams off the field. WCHS head coach Jess Howard said the game is scheduled to resume next Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.

WCHS has won 10 consecutive conference contests and will now prepare for Friday's road showdown with league leader Iowa Falls-Alden. The Cadets hold a one-game lead over the defending champion Lynx at the top of the standings.

HUMBOLDT - Webster City and Humboldt were tied 2-2 in the bottom of the third inning last night when the sky opened up and unleashed heavy rain on the area.

The North Central Conference baseball game was suspended. Lynx head coach Seth McGrane said it is tentatively scheduled to resume this evening at 7:30 p.m. The junior varsity game is on the docket for 5:30 p.m.
