Drug Take Away event a success

June 15, 2012
The Daily Freeman Journal

To the Editor:

On Saturday, June 9, the Webster City Hy-Vee Pharmacy held its annual Drug Take Away Event. There was rarely a dull moment at the drug drop as 98 total pounds of medication was collected during the two hour event.

Special thanks goes out to the Webster City Police Department and Officer Ed Wardell for ensuring a safe event.

We'd also like to thank Megan Gilbert and Kelsey Bahrenfuss, members of the youth organization SHIFTs Happen, and Deb Rohlfs from Community and Family Resources for helping with the event.

Thanks to Hy-Vee Assistant Manager Joe Connell for providing a canopy tent to offer some shade for workers.

Lastly, thank you to all who brought in your expired or unused medications. You helped keep our environment clean and fight prescription drug abuse.

pharmacy intern
