HARCOURT - Northeast Hamilton dropped both ends of a non-conference softball doubleheader to Southeast Webster-Grand here last night.

The Eagles broke up a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning of Game 1 and went on to win, 4-1. In the nightcap they notched a walk-off 5-4 win on a bases-loaded wild pitch with one out in the seventh.

"We played well, but once again we couldn't get the timely hit," NEH head coach Dave Hilton said.

Jennifer Jeffers laced two singles, while Jenn Willems, Jaidyn Timm and Lillian Chamness all had one base knock in the opener. Jeffers scored the team's only run in the first inning on a wild pitch.

Molly Greenfield allowed 10 hits in the circle; the junior struck out one and walked one.

Leah Meyer fanned five, but she issued seven free passes in the nightcap. NEH (3-14) out hit the Eagles (11-9) 6-5.
