Golf tourney a succcess

June 13, 2012
The Daily Freeman Journal

To the editor:

On June 9, the Hamilton County Peace Officers Association hosted its first annual fund raising golf tournament at Briggs Woods Golf Course.

The purpose of this tournament is to raise funds for a law enforcement family who has suffered a tragic event in the previous year. Our goal is to raise funds to assist them financially and to let them know they are not forgotten. This years' recipient was Kari Wyett, fianc of former Keokuk County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Stein who was killed in the line of duty in 2011, and his daughter Shelby. More than $2,000 was raised in his honor.

We would like to take this time to thank everyone who participated in the tournament and sincerely hope they all had a great time. We would like to thank the following businesses who sponsored this event, for without their help it would not be possible to put it together.

Chamness Technology Inc., Blairsburg; Tony's Tire Service; Lewright Meats, Eagle Grove; Ingraham Construction; Peterson Construction; East Marion Enterprises (Grant and Greg Carlson), Stratford; Webster City Custom Meats; Hicok's Automotive Detailing; Lerlin and Connie Hoelsher, Williams; Anderson Farms, Williams; Seamonds Insurance; Briggs Woods Golf Course and staff; P & P Electric; AK Auto Body; Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Center; Home Appliance; Advanced Family Medicine; The Daily Freeman Journal; Casady Bros.
