4-H Club News: Washington Winners

The Washington Winners 4-H club met on May 6 at Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by President Devin Summers. Roll call was name your favorite color and was answered by 20 guests, three leaders and two guests. The secretary's report was given by Daven Rees. Collin Harris gave the treasurer's report and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Samantha Dischler read the thank-you letter from the Youth Shelter. Lehigh River Days is June 16, state conference and junior camp were discussed. Three members are eligible for being the Webster County Fair king. Communication and Clothing exhibits were considered. A fair booth committee was formed. A recent 4-H club picture was taken. Dillion Systema led the 4-H pledge. Presentations were given by Ashley Nieland (the History of May Day), Lauren Harris (4-H History), and Evan Anderson (Mowing Safety). Recreation was led by Leslie Housken and Daven Rees to Get to Know your 4-H Club. Hosts were Ashley Nieland, Josh and Leah Gibbons.

Twenty members, one leader, and five guests were present at the June 3 Washington Winners 4-H meeting at Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. President Devin Summers called the meeting to order. Hannah Rees led the Pledge of Allegiance. Daven Rees led roll call and read the secretary's report. Collin Harris gave the treasurer's report. Ashley Nieland gave the Booth Committee report. CWF is June 1-10. Eleven Washington Winners are attending the Junior 4-H Camp June 13-15. Fair entries are due June 12. Lehigh River Days is June 16. Judging for Clothing Selection, Fashion Review, $15 Challenge, and Educational Presentations will be judged on June 23. June 24 will be the King and Queen interviews. State Conference is June 26-28. We discussed Share the Fun acts and the elements and principles of design. Members also signed up for the Hillbilly Sale. Olivia Mitchell continued with the 4-H Pledge. Presentations were given by Collin Harris (Fishing Hook Knotting), Justin Koester (3-2-1 Cake), and Leslie Housken (Tied Flip Flips). Recreation was at the park. The next meeting will be July 1.
