CONRAD - The South Hamilton softball team dropped a pair of contests to Bondurant-Farrar and Ballard here yesterday during the BCLUW Memorial Day Tournament.
The third-ranked (Class 3A) Blue Jays scored five runs in the top of the first inning and cruised to a 10-2 win over the Hawks. Ballard scored in every inning en route to a 11-1 victory.
Both games went 5 innings.
"The first game was frustrating because (the players) weren't playing like I know they can," South Hamilton head coach Tarin Bell said. "But they're working hard and improving, and that's all I can ask for."
Elizabeth Elsner and Tiffany Jacobson laced doubles against Bondurant-Farrar. Elsner drove in one run, as did Ella Jans on a single. Shannon Hoyle, Carly Swenson and Allyson Ervin all singled as well.
Mattea Detrick laced a single and double, and Jans collected another RBI base knock against Ballard.
