ACKLEY - The Northeast Hamilton softball team dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader to AGWSR here last night, as the Trojets dipped to 0-4 on the season.

The Cougars took Game 1, 10-0, and the nightcap, 14-4; both contests went 6 innings.

"It was kind of two steps backwards (last night)," NEH head coach Dave Hilton said. "We played pretty well (Wednesday night in a 6-5 loss to North Tama), but came out (last night) and didn't play well at all against a pretty good team."

Jennifer Jeffers and Caity Hassebrock accounted for the Trojets' two hits in Game 1. Molly Greenfield took the loss in the circle; she allowed eight hits while striking out six, and only one of the Cougars' runs was earned.

NEH committed eight errors in the opener.

Lillian Chamness smacked two hits, while Jeffers, Hassebrock, Kaylee Massman and Jen Willems all had one in Game 2.

Leah Meyer issued seven walks and surrendered eight hits in the loss. She fanned four.
