JEWELL - Eight players had at least one hit and the South Hamilton baseball team shelled previously unbeaten Clarion-Goldfield, 13-3 in 5 innings, here last night.
Lucas Olson and Lane Heinlein both had a single and double and drove in two runs in the win for the Hawks (2-0). Devin Howard and Nathan McSparin each added a single and collected two RBIs.
Justin Shepherd and John Hegland both cracked two singles - part of a 13-hit effort for the Hawks. Hegland drove in a run.
Heinlein was the beneficiary of the offense, as he collected the win on the mound. He struck out seven Cowboys (2-1).
South Hamilton will take part in the Grundy Center Memorial Day Tournament on Monday.
