WEBSTER CITY - Senior Night at Lynx Field couldn't have worked out any better yesterday evening, as three of Webster City's six four-year veterans notched goals in a 3-0 shutout win over Humboldt.
Garrett Gourley, Caleb Crouthamel and Jonny Davis all pounded shots into the back of the net to propel the Lynx to their 11th consecutive victory. They end the regular season at 15-2-1 overall and head into Monday's Class 2A substate opener against Clear Lake with momentum.
"Everything is going our way right now and we definitely hope to keep it that way," WCHS head coach Craig Signorin said after his club posted its eighth shutout of the campaign. "We're just going to keep going to work and we'll see what happens."
Gourley scored off a Davis assist in the 12th minute to put WCHS in front to stay.
Crouthamel pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 60th minute when he dribble through the defense and rifled a shot into the net, and three minutes later Davis joined the fun off an assist from Crouthamel.
