PANORA - Beating Prairie City-Monroe will have to wait, but at least South Hamilton will have that opportunity.
And that's good enough.
The Hawks posted a team total of 335 yesterday at Lake Panorama National Golf Course to place second and advance out of the Class 2A district meet and onto next week's state meet at Spring Valley Golf Course in Livermore. It's the team's second consecutive appearance at state; South Hamilton was third a season ago.
"We're moving on and that's what matters," South Hamilton head coach Mark Ullestad said. "Our goal all year has been to make it back to state and compete for a championship, and we're in position to do that."
Heart of Iowa Conference rival PCM again had the Hawks' number; the Mustangs claimed the district crown with a 327.
