The Daily Freeman Journal

WEBSTER CITY - The Webster City girls' golf team continued to lower its score, but a North Central Conference dual-meet win continued to not be in the cards Friday at the Webster City Links.

Eagle Grove came to town and shot a 222 to fire past the Lynx, who walked off the nine-hole course with a 243.

The Eagles' Jenna Miller carded the low round of the day - a 53. She finished a stroke ahead of teammate and meet runner-up Chloe Ryerson (54).

Webster City had three players shoot in the 50s, highlighted by a season-low 57 by Megan Gilbert. Maddy Miller and Justice Johnson both shot a 59.

Maricruz Arriola completed the Lynx scoring four with a 68.

WCHS will travel to Iowa Falls on Tuesday for a conference triangular against Iowa Falls-Alden and Humboldt. Players will tee off at 4:30 p.m.
