EAGLE GROVE - New faces in the lineup propelled the Webster City boys' golf team to its best team score over the last four years on Friday at the Eagle Grove Golf Course.

The Eagles were right at home on their course and turned in a 155 to beat the Lynx, who carded a season's-best round of 174.

"I think we are making good progress now and I'm looking forward to more improvement," WCHS head coach Dave Brighton said. "I am very excited for the team."

The Lynx two rookies - John Ferrell and Logan Yates - took the lead for the team. Ferrell shot a 41, a stroke better than Yates (42).

Ferrell's round featured four pars, while Yates had three.

"John Ferrell will be a strong contributor to the program," Brighton said.
