PREP GOLF: Trojans lag behind Indians, Redhawks at triangular; Swenson shares runner-up medal

Stolt shoots 64 to lead three-player NEH girls’ team

TRAER - Northeast Hamilton was forced to look up at its counterparts during an Iowa Star Conference triangular meet yesterday at the Traer Golf and Country Club.

Clarksville received a medalist round of 37 from Collin Jacobs and a runner-up score of 38 from Jaron Wagner en route to a 162 and team victory. North Tama was second with a 174, and the Trojans took third with a 178.

NEH senior Collin Swenson (38) shared the runner-up medal with Wagner.

Trevor Klaver and Logan Seiser shot matching 45s for the Trojans, and Andy Olson carded a 50 in the less-than-ideal playing conditions.

North Tama won the girls' meet with a 219, while the Indians had a 242. Northeast Hamilton had just three players - Hailey Stolt (64), Leah Meyer (65) and Abby Luppes (80) - and was unable to register a team total.

Clarksville's Arika Rinnels shot a 50 to sit atop the leaderboard.
