Edmund William Lichtsinn, current resident at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City, died on Saturday, April 7. Pastor Lichtsinn served Churches in the Storm Lake area from 1959 to 2004, and was editor of the district edition insert of the Lutheran Witness magazine for many years. He was born on May 11, 1922, oldest son of Edmund H. and Lydia Meyer Lichtsinn, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He married Clara Evers of Rochester, Indiana, August 24, 1947. He is survived by her, and their children Louis Lichtsinn (Vi) of Warrenton, Mo., Karen (John) Clark of Cedar Rapids and Anita (Dennis) Longhenry of Webster City, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and brother Robert Lichtsinn (Marla)?Fountview, CA.
Pastor Lichtsinn's first call was to a dual parish in Friona and Hereford, Texas. He also served churches in Arcadia and Noblesville, Indiana 1952-1959, Zion, rural Storm Lake, and Faith Lutheran of Sioux Rapids 1959-1988. In 1988 he retired and moved to Storm Lake as pastoral assistant and visitation pastor at St. John's, and guest pastor for area churches. He visited shut-ins, and served his community in various ways. In 2007, Ed and Clara moved to Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City, to be closer to family. Services are pending at Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
