Lottery head to speak at seminar

How to Wow series to feature Terry Rich

Terry Rich, the chief executive officer of the Iowa Lottery, will be the presenter at the next "From How to Wow" educational seminar, sponsored by the Webster City Chamber of Commerce.

The seminar will be held April 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration for the event includes a meal catered by the Lunchbox Market.

Rich will speak on "Creative Marketing: Building your marketing and brand for your business."

Appointed by the governor to his current position in 2009, Rich has also served as the CEO of Iowa's Blank Park Zoo, was president and CEO of Rich Heritage Inc., a national marketing and television production company, producing shows for ESPN, HBO, Comcast and others. He also served as vice president of marketing for Heritage Communications Inc.

Rich has a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University and is a member of the ISU Board of Governors and the ISU Journalism Department advisory council.

As CEO of the Iowa Lottery, Rich leads Iowa's $275 million dollar enterprise, which generates more than $60 million annually in proceeds that benefit the state's general fund and the Iowa Veteran's Trust fund. He also served on the executive board of Powerball and is treasurer for the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries, which represents all lotteries in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.

The cost for the seminar is $10 for Chamber members and $15 for nonmembers. To register, call the Chamber office at 832-2564 or email fitzgeraldc@wmtel.net to reserve a spot. Reservations are due no later than Monday, according to Chamber officials.
