WEBSTER CITY - Webster City head girls' basketball coach Jeff Lyons has resigned after seven years on the Lynx bench.

Lyons tendered his resignation early last week and it was officially accepted by the Webster City School Board on Monday.

"I've had a great group of girls over the last seven years here in Webster City and I've enjoyed it," Lyons said.

Webster City Athletic Director Bob Howard said no timetable has been put into place to find Lyons' replacement.

Prior to taking over the girls' program, Lyons spent nine years coaching at different levels in the Lynx basketball family. He was a boys' coach for eight years - he directed the junior varsity program for five seasons - before jumping over to the girls' program.
