Virgil Bryan, 93, of Webster City passed away on Friday March 16, 2012 at the Southfield Wellness Community. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Virgil was born on the family farm in Williams, IA on July 1, 1918 to Ray and Nilla Bryan. He married Nellie Brown on March 25, 1944. He started farming at an early age and farmed until his retirement in 1980. In 1984 he and Nellie moved to Webster City. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Blairsburg, IA and a long term member of the Eastern Star and Masons. He enjoyed wood working, farm toy shows, playing pool, dancing and music.
Due to failing health he moved to Windsor Manor Assisted Living in December of 2008 until February of 2010 when he moved to Southfield Wellness Community.
Virgil is survived by his sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews and special friend Lois Brinkema of Kamrar, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie Bryan in 1996; his parents and his sister.
