Three Hamilton County communities and several other nearby towns will be pass-through stops on the 40th RAGBRAI scheduled for July 22 through 28.
The Des Moines Register announced the route on Sunday which also revealed all of the pass-through communities. Stratford, Kamrar and Jewell will see riders bike through, as will Lehigh in Webster County, and Story City and Roland in Story County.
Riders on Day 3 will travel a total of 81.2 miles from Lake View to Webster City. For those riders who want an additional challenge that day, the Karras Loop - named for John Karras, one of RAGBRAI's founders - will travel from Dayton to Stratford on Iowa Highway 175, and circle around to County Road P73 south of Lehigh. The loop adds about 23 miles to the trek, according to RAGBRAI officials.
