Des Moines Register RAGBRAI officials met with local Webster City officials concerning plans for the cyclists' overnight stay in the community July 24.
According to Mayor Janet Adams, requirements for hosting the event were outlined as well as timelines to follow to assure all accommodations are in place when the riders arrive.
"The annual event is one sought after by many Iowa cities and Webster City is proud to be one of the sites chosen," Adams said. "It is a time to showcase our community to many visitors."
Chair people and members of 19 committees plus many volunteers will be needed to carry out the activities for the overnight stay, Adams said. Phone numbers and locations to receive information will be set up where volunteers can offer assistance, according to Adams.
