Tickets on sale Saturday for play

February 3, 2012
The Daily Freeman Journal

Webster City Community Theatre will be presenting "The Dining Room." The A. R. Gurney play is a series of vignettes that are set in this once-important room in the homes of well-to-do families over several decades.

Performances will be held Feb. 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 12 and 19 at 2 p.m. All seats are reserved. Tickets go on sale Saturday for $10 each.

Director Mike Kroona and Assistant Director Abby Sturtevant have worked with the cast to create scenes involving spouses, parents, their children, grandchildren, siblings, teenagers, maids and professionals. Audiences will watch the cast at meal time, on special occasions and as they confront life's challenges. The play contains some adult situations and may not be suitable for all ages.

Each cast member portrays multiple characters. Meeting the challenge of assuming different personalities and ages are Kaylee Coster, Loween Getter, Al Yungclas and Nathan Roe all of Webster City; Michele Veldhuizen of Blairsburg; Dean Evans of Alden; and Dale Arends of Belmond.

The box office is open weeknights from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, and one hour prior to each show. Stop by 1001 Willson Avenue in Webster City, call 832-4456, or order online at www.wcctonline.org to get your tickets.

WCCT will also conduct a non-perishable food drive during this production. Items will be given to the Upper Des Moines Opportunity Food Pantry.

Audience members will have an opportunity to tour the Webster City Community Theatre following each performance to see what goes on behind the scene of a production.
