Eleanor Palmer, 99, Webster City

Eleanor Palmer, 99, of Webster City, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Revs. Mike Kroona and Tony Ede officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the memorial service at the church. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Eleanor L Sellstrom, daughter of Albin and Emelia Julander Sellstrom, was born May 27, 1912 at Gowrie. She attended Gowrie High School. She moved to Webster City to live with her sister and it was here that she met Carl. On August 23, 1936, she married Carl Tiffany Palmer at Gowrie. The couple resided at Webster City. She was mainly a homemaker. Mr. Palmer died December 26, 1987. She had resided at Crestview Senior Living since 2008.

Eleanor is survived by two nieces and a nephew, Karen Monson of Gowrie, Gaylee Anderson of Honey Creek and Maurice Dixon of McKinney, TX.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Sellstrom, Verna Dixon and Laurine Edwards; brother, Larry Sellstrom; a nephew and a niece.

Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and also was a member of several antique doll clubs. Over the years, she was an avid collector of antiques.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
