To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the Webster City community for such a generous show of support at Whoop-Ti-Doos annual Thanksgiving Meal. This year over 525 meals were served or delivered. All left-over food was donated to the Men's Shelter in Fort Dodge. We had well over 60 volunteers and many more that donated food items or financial support. There were donations left over and were used to help a single mom in need, deliver homemade Christmas cookies to the elderly in town, and some went to an orphanage in Jamaica (which was started by an Iowa woman) where diapers and other supplies were brought when our family recently went there on a mission trip.
Webster City, The Lord is using your generosity to bring life and hope to those in need. What a beautiful way to see the truth of scripture come alive, especially in such an uncertain economic time.
It is my prayer that this unknown of our community's future will press us into a God who cares for this community more than we ever could and seek his plan and purpose for our future.
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a good future."
