To the Editor:
Many grateful thanks to everyone who made the 35th annual Community Christmas Dinner a success.
To Kamrar First Presbyterian Church, Town and Country Insurance and First State Bank of Webster City, and Dean Bowden for their financial support; to Bob and Mary Van Diest for providing all the turkeys; to Fuhs, Leon's, Hy-Vee and Fareway for their donations of food or products; to the Daily Freeman Journal and KQWC for publicity; to members and friends of Asbury United Methodist Church for the numerous donations of food; to Arden and Dalene Schlitter, Loween and Doug Getter, Shirley, Carolyn and Vern Cross for cooking the meal; and to the many volunteers - waiters, hosts, drivers, clean-up crew - a huge thank you.
More than 150 guests enjoyed a scrumptious meal, followed by entertainment from the Borer children on their violins, Christmas carol singing and games with Dan and Lynn Corrow, and then everyone enjoyed a game of Bingo. The annual event truly happens with everyone pitching in a little. Much thanks.
