Foster care families needed

December 23, 2011
The Daily Freeman Journal

To the editor:

Between December of 2010 and December of 2011, there were 102 children referred into foster care in Webster County. More than 45 percent were 13 or older.

As many of us gather to celebrate the holidays with friends and family, please consider if your family has another gift to share the gift of a supportive, safe and loving home for a child in foster care.

People from all walks of life are needed to share their support, guidance and care. Children enter foster care through no fault of their own, but often because of circumstances related to abuse and neglect. Every child deserves to be connected to a caring and supportive adult.
