This week marks the beginning of holiday travel season, and all across the nation millions of people will be traveling to Thanksgiving celebrations.
According to AAA, more than 80 percent of those holiday travelers will be journeying to their destination by car. That may be why November is one of the months with the highest auto crash severity, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Traffic Safety Facts.
Give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination just in case there are travel delays, inclement weather or traffic congestion. Buckle up and observe the speed limits along the way. Use common sense and extra caution to make sure you arrive safely and are able to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Daily Freeman-Journal wishes all of our readers safe travels and a very Happy Thanksgiving.
