Students enjoyed museum visit

November 21, 2011
The Daily Freeman Journal

To the editor:

Webster City eighth-grade students really enjoyed the tour of the depot on Veterans Day provided by Cheryl Patrou, Nancy Kayser and Darlene Dingman. These individuals provided the students with the history and stories behind items found in the museum.

Students were given time to view artifacts like the mammoth tooth, extinct birds, native American artifacts, war artifacts donated from community members of Hamilton County, and the last items made here by past manufacturers. Steve Brodsky and Kenny Morris provided the students with a living history through their own personal lives which kept the kids mesmerized with their experiences. Students were even provided homemade cookies as they left their museum tour. The students are still talking about how much they enjoyed their time at the museum.

What a great opportunity for anyone in Hamilton County to enjoy and learn more about our own local history.
