Carrie Louise Severson and Jeffrey Allyn Shepard, of Gypsum, Colo., were united in marriage on Aug. 13, 2011, at the Beaver Creek Wedding Deck in Beaver Creek, Colo. The Rev. Don Bissett officiated the ceremony.
The bride's parents are Palmer and Cheryl Schneider, of Webster City, and Tom and Audrey Severson, of Joice. The groom's parents are Pam Soma-Mori, of Spring Valley, Minn., and the late John Shepard.
The pianist was Brian Adams, a friend of the couple. The flutist was Kira Sniff, cousin of the bride.

The bridal party walked down the steps to the wedding deck to "Canon in D." The bride walked to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." The pianist played a song that he had written especially for the bride and groom during the wine ceremony. The recessional was to "Spring." A reading "Blessing for a Marriage" was given by Kirsten Williams, cousin of the bride.
Matrons of honor were sisters of the bride, Jennifer Van Langen, of Blairsburg, and Laura Estlund, of Webster City. Bridesmaids were Erin Pullen, friend of the bride, of Loveland, Colo., and Jill Shepard, sister of the groom, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. The flower girl was Lydia Estlund, niece of the bride, of Webster City.
Best man was Pavel Trnka, friend of the groom, of Vail, Colo. Groomsmen were friends of the groom: Tim Akers, of Chatfield, Minn.; Jason Kendall, of Vail, Colo.; and Kirk Cashmore, of Holiday Hills, Ill. Ushers were nephews of the bride, Brandon Van Langen and Bryce Van Langen, both of Blairsburg. Ring bearers were nephews of the bride, Evan Estlund, Luke Estlund and Eli Estlund, all of Webster City.
A rehearsal party was held at Eagle Lodges & Suites in Eagle Colo., hosted by the groom's mother.
The reception was held at Brusk Creek Pavillion in Eagle, Colo. Host and hostesses were Linda and Dave Pruismann, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Donna and Dave Lundquist, friends of the bride. The couple traveled to San Juan Skyway in Colorado for their honeymoon.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Iowa, and graduated with a master of arts degree in gerontology from the University of Northern Colorado. She is employed by Eagle County in the Economic Services Department.
The groom is a graduate of South Central Technical College. He is self-employed with Moving Mountains Trucking and is also a ranch manager for WRB Enterprises.
