Max Sylvester, of Webster City, will celebrate his 80th birthday on Saturday. He was born Oct. 1, 1931.
His family will be holding a private family gathering in honor of his birthday.
He and his wife, Janet, have five children: Jim Sylvester, Fredrichs, Md.; Steve Sylvester, Glenwood; Sue Nimic, Lincoln, Neb.; Julie Olmstead, Webster City; and Scott, Sylvester, Dana Point, Calif. He has 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
