Another successful carnival held

The Webster City Daycare Center had a very successful fall open house/carnival on Aug. 29. We would like to thank the community for their support and highlight the businesses and individuals that donated items for the free-will offering meal and the silent auction and raffle. Without these generous donations, our carnival would not have been nearly as successful. Those businesses and individuals that donated items for the meal include Webster City Custom Meats, Fareway, Lynx Supply, Lisa and Brent VanDeer, and Phil and Alberta Voge.

Those businesses and individuals that contributed items for the silent auction and raffle include Second Street Emporium, Goldfield Veterinary Clinic/Robyn Stuck DVM, Daily Freeman Journal, Harry Stowell, Tami and Andy Hejlik, Webster City Medical Clinic, Jim and Jean Fager, The Gridiron, Briggs Woods, Casady Brothers Implements, Lamperts, R Company, Gilbert Jewelers, Super 8 Motel, Walmart, Tony's Tire Service, Stony Creek Landscape, The Video Place, Cori and Jeffrey Fogle, Fuller Hall, North Central Turf, Leon's Pizza, Lunchbox Market, Subway, Dani and Jay Kohl, Walker Insurance, Dairy Queen, Building Families, MyMedMart, The Mane Attraction, Ted's Car Wash, Fazolli's, Decker Sporting Goods, Mary and Company, Godfather's Pizza, O-Reilly Auto Parts, Designer Graphix, and Lynette Smith.

We also would like to thank our parents for contributing homemade bars and cookies and our parents, grandparents, other family members and community members for attending the event and buying raffle tickets, participating in the silent auction and donating money for the meal that was served.

In addition, we would like to thank our staff for developing and running the games and for everything they do everyday to take care of the children at our center. Without their wonderful work, we would not be able to provide day care to 80-plus families.

The money raised will be used for building upgrades and equipment upgrades including the purchase of all new cribs for our baby room. New federal regulations require the new cribs be purchased by December 2012.

As a part of one of our upcoming fundraisers, we are asking for our children and staff to come up with the "top 5 things to do at Webster City Daycare." The list will make up the design for a new t-shirt and we are looking for businesses that would be willing to sponsor our t-shirts in exchange for having their logo on the back of the t-shirts.
