Great turnout for barbecue

September 9, 2011
The Daily Freeman Journal

To the editor:

The Webster City Noon Kiwanis Club recently held another successful chicken/pork barbecue fundraiser. We want to especially thank the following:

Ameriprise Financial Advisors, who purchased and personally grilled all the smoked pork loins themselves; Hy-Vee Food Store for the carry-out sacks; Webster City Middle School and especially Todd Hartnett and Diane Lacey for their great assistance in the kitchen; Flower Cart, Peoples Credit Union, Webster City Federal Savings Bank, Abens Realty, and Asbury Methodist Church for the sign advertising; Kiwanis spouses, children and grandchildren who helped with preparation in the morning and serving in the evening; our loyal customers who purchased tickets; and especially the community for the great support and turnout.

Because of this, all the food was used up and we apologize to anyone who may have come through the drive-through at the end and was not able to be served.

We'll see you again next year.

Justin Malloy,

acting president
