Alayna Marie Carlson and Caleb Daniel Kester were united in marriage on May 28, 2011, at the Community Church of Kamrar in Kamrar, with the Rev. Peter Mueller officiating.

The bride's parents are Brad and Karleen Carlson, of Jewell. The groom's parents are Dave and Julie Kester, of Urbandale.

The church was decorated with light blue fabric and lights draped along the walls and a quilt constructed by the bride from her maternal grandmother's wedding dress adorned the altar at the front of the church.

The bride wore a pearl angel satin a-line gown with ivory cut-out lace details and clear crystal accents. The gown was designed by Essence of Australia and had a chapel length train with a lace cut-out and pleated satin cap sleeves. The bride carried a floral bouquet of alstroemeria, daisies, and caspia in various shades of purple and lavender surrounded by lily grass and hand tied into a rounded nosegay.

Sister-in-law of the bride, Tarra Carlson, served as matron of honor and Elizabeth Kester, sister of the groom, served as the maid of honor. Other bridesmaids included Miranda Carlson and Susan Henrich with Jenna Woodall serving as the junior bridesmaid. The bridesmaids wore marine blue satin and chiffon a-line dresses with a halter neckline and carried bouquets of daisies. Flower girls, Jessica and Jillian Woodall, wore silver satin and chiffon dresses accented with silver sequins and carried pomander flower balls of white daisies.

Brother of the groom, Ben Kester, served as the best man. The other groomsmen included Calvin Carlson, Austin Carlson, and Josh Kester. Tyler Rozenboom served as the ring bearer. Guests were ushered into the ceremony by Joe LaFeve, Travis Manderfield, and Seth Currier.

The bride entered the wedding ceremony to the vocal duet "Revelation" by The Wedding sung by Austin and Tarra Carlson. The song was accompanied by Jenn Hindman and Elika Korhonen. During the lighting of the unity candle, soloist Calvin Carlson sang "Everything I Own" by Jason Gray and was accompanied by Beau and Jenn Hindman and Austin Carlson. Cindy Pals also served as the pianist.

Following the wedding ceremony, guests released balloons to celebrate the wedding and then gathered for a dinner reception and dance at Harvest E-Free in Story City. Following the wedding, the couple traveled to Maui, Hawaii for their honeymoon.

The couple currently resides in West Dundee, Ill. where Alayna is employed as a middle school mathematics teacher at Westminster Christian School in Elgin, Ill. and Caleb is employed as a web developer at AmericanEagle.com in Park Ridge, Ill.
