Carrie Severson and Jeffrey Shepard, of Gypsum, Colo., announce their engagement.
The couple plan to marry on Aug. 13, 2011, in Beaver Creek, Colo.
The bride's parents are Palmer and Cheryl Schneider, of Webster City, and Tom and Audrey Severson, of Joice.

The groom's parents are Pamela Soma-Mori, of Spring Valley, Minn., and the late John Shepard.
Severson is a graduate of the University of Iowa, and graduated with a master of arts degree in gerontology from the University of Northern Colorado. She is employed by Eagle County in the economic services department.
Shepard is a graduate of South Central Technical College. He is self-employed with Moving Mountains Trucking and also ranch manager for WRB Enterprises.
