Another Hamilton County Fair has come to a close. Despite the challenges of heat and a little rain, the week-long event was successful.
The Daily Freeman-Journal salutes the hard work and efforts of the fair board, the fair foundation, Iowa State Extension, 4-H officials and volunteers who continue to make the fair a fun and exciting event each summer. Congratulations should also go to all the young people who worked throughout the year to bring projects and livestock to the fair.
On the last day of the fair, came the exciting news that sufficient funds had been raised to soon begin construction of a new show arena. The new building, which officials said would be ready in time for the 2012 Hamilton County Fair, will be approximately 100-square-feet by 100-square-feet.
This new building will ensure that young people will have the opportunity to show livestock and compete in fair competitions for many generations to come.
