The new Hamilton County Fair queen will be announced tonight during the coronation ceremony to be held at 7 p.m. at the fair grandstand.
Ten young women are competing for the crown in the this year's event. They are Koryne Carlson, Stratford, Miranda Carlson, Stratford, Andrea Ebrecht, Ellsworth, Sawyer Gourley, Webster City, Samantha Leksell, Kamrar, Kari Peterson, Webster City, Kalli Richardson, Blairsburg, Courtney Stakey, Kamrar, Rachel Vaughn, Blairsburg and Jessica Vestweber, Jewell.
Prior to the coronation, there will be a free meal, hosted by the Hamilton County Fair Board, at 6 p.m. in the grandstand.
Wednesday events
- Horse Show - 4-H and FFA, 8 a.m.;
- Open class photography judging, 8 a.m.;
Poultry Show, 8 a.m.;
Open class textile judging, 9:30 a.m., followed by hobby craft judging;
- Commercial exhibits and 4-H exhibits open, 10 a.m.;
Rabbit Showmanship, 11 a.m. in beef barn;
Judging of 4-H horticulture exhibits, 1 p.m.;
Rabbit show, 1 p.m.;
Open class first floral show judging, 1 p.m.;
Redhead Express family entertainment on the Prince Stage, 1 and 3 p.m.;
- Products of the Kitchen judging, 2 p.m.;
Tomahawk Throwing, south of horse barn, 2 and 4 p.m.;
- Pedal pull, 3:30 p.m;.
Midway opens, 4 p.m.;
- Quiz bowl, 4:30 p.m;.
Free meal, sponsored by the Fair Board, 6 p.m.;
- Hamilton County Fair queen coronation, 7 p.m., sponsored by Southfield Wellness Community.
