To the editor:
My records indicate that the city has been collecting the water well surcharge since July, 16, 2007 through the last billing date of April 14, 2011. If there are approximately 5,000 meters, not including the commercial customers that tallies to $1,187,500.
How much longer are you going to continue collecting $5.50 each month from each customer? If this is not quite enough funds to dig a well, will the city stop the billing when you reach your goal?
I shudder to think you will keep collecting the funds so you can have monies for other projects that you may deem necessary.
