Scholarships for nursing students are now available

Trinity Health Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for he 2011-2012 academic year.

Scholarships include:

McMillen Scholarship provided through the estate of Leone McMillen. Preference is given to individuals who have completed the nursing program a Iowa Central Community College and are seeking an advanced nursing degree at an accredited educational institution. Nursing students enrolled in the ICCC nursing program also may submit applications. The scholarship is available for part-time and full-time students.

The Tom and Margaret Welch Scholarship. It is awarded to students who are certified nurse aides or other health workers who aspire to obtain an association or baccalaureate degree in nursing. Available for both part-time and full-time students.

The Roselpha Lovrien Nursing Scholarship. Preference is given to individuals who have completed the ICCC nursing program and are seeking an advanced nursing degree at an accredited educational institution. Nursing students at ICCC may also submit applications.

The Arthur Moeller Scholarship. Provides a scholarship to a ICCC nursing student or one seeking an advanced nursing degree in an accredited program. Available for part-time and full-time students.

The Dr. Clyde A. Lindquist Scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has been accepted or is enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited higher education program, majoring in a health science field. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.

The Andrea Reed Scholarship. Preference will be given to a healthcare worker pursuing an associate degree in nursing with a career goal to becoming a registered nurse. Preference will also be given to single parent families. The scholarship is available to both part-time and full-time students.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic merit, leadership, citizenship, career objectives and financial need. Preference is given to qualified applicants from the eight counties (Buena Vista, Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Sac, Webster and Wright) served by Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Interested students can obtain scholarship application forms and additional information at www.trmc.org/scholarships or by calling Trinity Health Foundation at (515) 574-6794. Applications must be received by 4 p.m. on April 8.
