Shine the light on Webster City

December 31, 2010
The Daily Freeman Journal

It's almost time for the new year, full of anticipation and a little bit of apprehension for what's to come. Webster City has many challenges facing us this year, but we've shown in the past that we can overcome obstacles that present themselves.

What will be critical in the months to come is for our community leaders, city officials and economic development people to present a clear vision for Webster City and get community support. If we are all working together, we can see our way through the challenges we face. Those who prefer to complain and naysay need to become part of the solution to move the community forward.

The new year is a time for hope and optimism. It is a time for making resolutions to better ourselves and our circumstances. It's time to shine a light on what Webster City has and our best assets - a sense of community, our wonderful natural attractions, our dedicated workforce and a creative forward-thinking attitude. If we do that, then surely for Webster City, the best is yet to come.
