Sidewalks needed on south Superior Street

October 27, 2010
The Daily Freeman Journal

To the Editor:

The city is planning a sidewalk going east on Second Street. That's great. It's needed. But, where is the sidewalk going south on Superior Street? We have a new intersection but no provision was made for pedestrians or bicycles to have access to the new hospital, courthouse, Farm Service building, the apartment complex, or the strip mall. Our planning committee was very shortsighted to not include a way for pedestrians and bikers to have access to these facilities.

A car has trouble navigating that intersection. How safe would I be if I wanted to walk to the new hospital from Superior or Fairmeadow Drive?
