Fair assoc. annual meeting set
The Hamilton County Fair Association's annual meeting and banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2009, in the Ed Prince Building at the fairgrounds in Webster City.
Fair secretary Holly Myers said four seats on the fair board are up for election this year. The seats up this year are currently held by: Cindy Mitchell, Amy Ratcliff, John Koop ad Mark Hild. Voting members interested in being a candidate for a director position should contact Secretary Holly Myers for more information. Memberships may be obtained by contacting any current board member or the fair office at 832-1443.
The Hamilton County Fair board consists of 12 members representing the entire county. The board must have at least one member from each quarter of the county. The term for each board member is three years. Candidates for the board must be members of the Hamilton County Fair Association. Current board members are: Tim Holt, Gerald Gourley, Randy Chalfant, Marv Norem, Brent Odland, Darrell Hay, Marty Johnson, Mark Claude, Hild, Koop, Mitchell, and Ratcliff.
Any person of good moral character, either a resident of Hamilton County or a non-resident owning land in Hamilton County may become a member of the Hamilton County Fair Association. To be a member of the Hamilton County Fair Association the By-Laws state that the dues must be paid to the secretary 5 days prior to the annual meeting, which would be by Dec. 3.. Dues for 2010 will be $10, which also includes the meal for the evening.
