Announcement of $60,000 grant pushes total raised to more than $768,000STANHOPE - The City of Stanhope and the Stanhope Public Library Foundation have announced that a grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust has been approved for the proposed new Stanhope Public Library and Community Center in the amount of $60,000.
The approval of this grant, in addition to funds raised to date and in kind funds, means that the project has reached approximately $768,078.
The new Stanhope Library and Community Center will be a state of the art facility that is L.E.E.D. energy efficiency certified and will also provide a storm shelter for the community, according to organizers. In addition to the library and city offices, a large public meeting area will be included.

Since 1991, the Trust has awarded 238 grants, totaling more than $6.9 million, to public libraries throughout the State of Iowa.
Special thanks goes to Lauren Tweed, a Consultant to the Project and to Polly Hayes for their many hours of dedicated work on the project.
Fund raising will continue for the new facility and all funds donated are treated as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service.
